MME The Sweetest thing - layout

Good afternoon all,

Firstly, i just want to say a big ''Thank You'' for all the get well wishes.  I wont be running any marathons in the near future (not that i could have even before the op!) but i think the op(s) went well.

I am just nipping on here to quickly post a layout that i created as one of my DT projects for the fabulous Paper Lane. You can view Paper Lane and my blog post here.

I was very fortunate to be given this really gorgeous Echo Park paper from 'The Sweetest Thing' collection and this is what i made.  I really love the colours in this collection.

The chipboard words and cog were painted using the fantastic Martha Stewart acrylic paints. The doily is from Cheery Lynn and is coloured with Tattered Angels Glimmermists.

I made this embellishment by layering punched scalloped circles and adding a cameo that i had in my stash.

This is the final project.

Thank you for dropping by today and may i extend a very big warm and friendly welcome to my newest followers. It is fabulous to have you here.

Go to go, time for my drugs (painkillers!)  Will try and catch up with you all soon, once i can sit for more than 10 mins at a time!

Big hugs, Jill x

My Boys!

Good morning crafters, I hope you all had a good weekend.
Today I want to share with you a layout I created as part of my DT inspiration for Paper Lane using this beautiful paper from the Echo Park, Paradise Beach collection. The colours and designs in this collection are fabulous and perfect for summer photos.

Method:

I used the ‘Paradise’ paper for my base.  I loved the design with the palm tree and waves.  It fitted well with the photo I wanted to use which is a snap i took of my supportive hubby and fabulous son mashAllah when we went for  short stay to Fujairah, UAE.

To start with, I lightly sprayed the layout with Tattered Angels glimmer mist.  Then I created two borders from the Echo Park ‘Beach Bum’ paper and adhered them to the top of my layout. I stamped ‘my boys’ onto the tabs using an American Crafts alphabet stamp set.  I created a mat for my photo and adhered it into position using double sided tape.  The flourish is made of chipboard and coloured with Tattered angels glimmer mist with some Ranger  embossing powder sprinkled on top to give it extra bling and set in place with my heat tool.  The tags were cut from the same ‘beach bum’ paper and attached around the sun with dimensionals. The ribbon was ruffled like waves and attached with tape.
Thank you for visiting me today. If you leave me a comment, i will know you have been to see my blog and i can visit you back.
Take care,
p.s Watch this space for a card i made from the same Echo Park Paradise Beach collection.

My boys!

Good afternoon everyone,

How are you all today?  I have been busy busy busy trying to get ahead with my DT projects and have been neglecting the housework! Is that ok? lol  I do have a quick layout to show you though.  These are my boys (hubby and son). They love to sit on the rocks at the beach. Personally, i shake from fear whenever i go near them so i tend to stay on level ground and take the snaps!  My son was fascinated with what was at the bottom of the rocks (sand or water?) lol

Supplies:

Paper: DCWV collage musings stack pack
Die cuts: Tim Holtz
Inks: Tim Holtz distress ink - walnut stain & Tattered Angels glimmer mist -meadow green.
Embellishments: K &Company -
dragonfly and butterfly

Thank you for dropping by to visit and a big warm welcome to my new followers.

Take care

Bo Bunny layout

Good evening crafters!

Today, i have another inspirational layout to share with you all. I seem to be making just as many layouts these days as cards and i am having fun trying out some new techniques and using these gorgeous papers and embellishments. For this layout, all the papers are from the Bo Bunny Country Garden collection. The chipboards are by Dusty Attic and the inks are Tim Holtz distress ink and Tattered Angels glimmermists. I also used Ranger 'bridal' embossing powder to give the chipboard some extra sparkle and an EK Success heart border punch.

Echo Park layout

Good afternoon all,

This is my second post for today and it is a layout.  The layout i promised to show you on Friday and forgot to post! If you want to see my 'baby girl' card for today, please scroll down.

As for the layout, i actually made it whilst i was attending Iris Babao UY's workshop last week.  I must admit, when i first saw this, gesso/ripped muslin technique i had my reservations.  It is nothing like my 'normal' style but hey ho, i gave it a go and it has grown on me! lol  It is great to share techniques and learn from others and i sure did learn a few new tricks of the trade.   I love this Echo Park paper collection too, it is ideal for masculine layouts.

What do you think? Would love to hear your comments...

So do you want to see what i created? Really? lol

Here is the first layout i made using Bo Bunny's 'Country Garden' Collection ..............

Worlds Greatest!

Good morning crafters!

I hope you are all well. Today i want to share with you, a layout i made of my fabulous Mum and Dad mashAllah.  I took this photo of them last summer when we visited a Heritage Park and when i saw it, i just knew that it was going to end up in my scrapbooking album!

Anyway, the paper i chose is from Echo Park Dots & Stripes collection (Peony small dots) and the colour is a perfect match for my Mum and Dad's top and shirt.  I dont think they realised at the time that they were matching! The tree with the two little birds is from Dusty Attic and i coloured it with Tim Holtz distress inks and added some pink pearls for a touch of glamour.  The die cuts are from Tim Holtz.  The flowers i made using a Sizzix Bigz 3d flower die and the tags were cut out from another Echo Park paper which i think is called This and That. Oh and the title is wooden words from my stash that i coloured with distress ink.

That's it! What do you think?
