For the Guys!

Good morning all,

Firstly, i need to apologise for not being around blogland as much lately.  I was meant to have an operation yesterday and had been working hard in the background getting ahead with DT projects and organising everyday things for when i was going to be in hospital but you guessed it, i didn't have the operation. I was admitted, gown on, in bed, waiting, then they took my temperature and i had fever so i was given lunch and sent home.....arghhhhhh! So i will try and catch up with my comments this week before i am admitted again!

2 Sisters Challenge # 101

Good morning all,

I hope you are having a good weekend. Today, i am here let you know about this weeks challenge over at the 2 Sisters Challenge Blog.

As you already probably know, 2 Sisters are having a 'Christmas in July' month so for the entire month of July the theme is CHRISTMAS. Each week there is an optional twist to the theme. To qualify for a chance to win the sponsor prize all you have to do is enter a card or project using the theme of Christmas. However if you also use the optional twist, your name will be put into a drawing at the end of the month for a chance to win a prize package from my shop The Crafting Boutique

This week's optional twist is: Use an image of an animal or with an animal in it. Remember you don't have to use the twist unless you would like to be entered into the monthly drawing.
This week's sponsor is the fabulous Meljens Designs Designs.
I was lucky enough to be given a fantastic digi from Meljens Designs and this is what i created.

I coloured the image with Copics and added some bling to the jingle bells.  The edges of the papers were distressed with Tim Holtz distress ink (Walnut stain) and i used a Close to my Heart Edge distressing tool on the matted image.  Designer paper on the card base is called 'mistletoe' and is by Making Memories and the paper used for matting and to the left behind the image is from the DCWV Collage Musings stack pack. The sentiment was on the reverse of the mistletoe paper.

Thank you for visiting.  I hope you will visit the other DT projects on the 2 Sisters blog and hope you will join in the challenge this week too.

    Take care,
    Hugs,

Happy Birthday

Good evening crafters!

I hope you are all well and getting better weather than me!  Sorry for the lack of posts since Thursday, i have been travelling and i'm not organised yet! Since i arrived in the UK it has not stopped raining.  My little man thinks it is brilliant because he can splash in the puddles and take his umbrella everywhere but i would prefer it to rain when i am sleeping.  Bring on the sunshine please.

Anyway, onto my card, this is a card i made for Paper Lane.  It is one of a few projects i made using the DCWV Collage Musings stack pack.  I wanted to create a card that was easy to make with few tools for this particular project.  I made the flower using the paper from the pack and attached a brad to the centre.  The fence is a Tim Holtz die cut coloured with distress ink.

Paper Lane are also holding a Design Challenge and my card is the inspiration.  The challenge is open to anyone that can collect the prize in person from Paper Lane

Here is the fabulous prize you could win.

And here is my card:

Thank you for stopping by.
Best wishes,
Jill x

My boys!

Good afternoon everyone,

How are you all today?  I have been busy busy busy trying to get ahead with my DT projects and have been neglecting the housework! Is that ok? lol  I do have a quick layout to show you though.  These are my boys (hubby and son). They love to sit on the rocks at the beach. Personally, i shake from fear whenever i go near them so i tend to stay on level ground and take the snaps!  My son was fascinated with what was at the bottom of the rocks (sand or water?) lol

Supplies:

Paper: DCWV collage musings stack pack
Die cuts: Tim Holtz
Inks: Tim Holtz distress ink - walnut stain & Tattered Angels glimmer mist -meadow green.
Embellishments: K &Company -
dragonfly and butterfly

Thank you for dropping by to visit and a big warm welcome to my new followers.

Take care

Origami shirt

Good evening crafters,

I hope you are all well.  Tonight i want to share with you a card i made for one of my Paper Lane DT projects using the DCWV Collage Musings stack pack. When i saw this 'measuring tape' paper i knew i had to make a masculine card with it.  The origami shirt was made using paper from the same stack pack.  I made this card into a Birthday card but it could just as easily be a Father's Day card.

And a close up:

Supplies:

Paper: DCWV Collage Musings stack pack, brown card stock and cream card base
Inks: Tim Holtz (Walnut stain) distress ink
Sentiment: Stampin UP! birthday wishes
Tools: Close to my Heart distressing tool
Adhesives: glue stick, double sided tape and dimensionals
Brads & large paper clip

Thank you all for visiting.

     Hugs,
