Kaisercraft frame - New Baby

Good morning all,

I hope this post finds you well. Today i have popped in to share with you something a little different.  Recently, my neighbour had a new baby and she has always been supportive of my crafty projects so i decided to make them a little gift.  Forgive me for the photo heavy post and for the poor quality and squint pics ( I took them in a hurry... argh!)

I started off with a large Kaisercraft frame (below) and have used My Mind's Eye 'The Sweetest Thing' collection throughout.  I love this collection and thought it would be just as nice as 'baby' papers.

This is what i made...............
I have left the top left space free for a photo to be inserted under the corner die cuts and two smaller photos can be added further down. I've also added a little journal tag which was a pre made journal tag from this collection that i cut down and altered to fit.

This is a Cheery Lynn doily which is part coloured using Martha Stewart acrylic paint (surf) and a ready made sentiment from MME The Sweetest Thing collection.

This is a 3D sticker from the same collection.  I added the button and hemp.

This was a wooden teddy i had in my stash for ages that i painted then added the bow.

Finally, the flowers are from Hobbycraft and were white so i painted the with the same Martha Stewart acrylic paints, added some Tim Holtz die cut flourishes and voila!  The name and date are American Crafts thickers.

Supplies:

My Mind's Eye 'The Sweetest Thing' collection - Designer paper, journal tag (altered and cut down) & 'playful' sign, tiny word stickers and layered stickers.
Dusty Attic layered flowers and words (adore & cherish)
Martha Stewart acrylic paint - surf, jonquil and couscous
Tim Holtz distress ink - walnut stain
Flowers from Hobbycraft
Die cuts by Tim Holtz (flourishes) and Cheery Lynn (corners)
Thickers by american Crafts

Challenges i would like to enter:

Thank you for visiting me today.  I hope you are all having a good day. As always, you comments are very much appreciated.  I hope to catch up with you all later on today.

For now, take care.
Hugs, Jill x

MME The Sweetest thing - layout

Good afternoon all,

Firstly, i just want to say a big ''Thank You'' for all the get well wishes.  I wont be running any marathons in the near future (not that i could have even before the op!) but i think the op(s) went well.

I am just nipping on here to quickly post a layout that i created as one of my DT projects for the fabulous Paper Lane. You can view Paper Lane and my blog post here.

I was very fortunate to be given this really gorgeous Echo Park paper from 'The Sweetest Thing' collection and this is what i made.  I really love the colours in this collection.

The chipboard words and cog were painted using the fantastic Martha Stewart acrylic paints. The doily is from Cheery Lynn and is coloured with Tattered Angels Glimmermists.

I made this embellishment by layering punched scalloped circles and adding a cameo that i had in my stash.

This is the final project.

Thank you for dropping by today and may i extend a very big warm and friendly welcome to my newest followers. It is fabulous to have you here.

Go to go, time for my drugs (painkillers!)  Will try and catch up with you all soon, once i can sit for more than 10 mins at a time!

Big hugs, Jill x

OSAAT - BOO

Good afternoon all,
Today i am here to let you know about this week's challenge over at One Stitch at a Time.

Apologies but this is just a quickie post today because i just got out of hospital on Friday and all i am saying is, i am glad you cannot see me now sitting all hunched like an old lady (i am an old lady, i know, but i mean a really really old lady!) whilst trying to type this post as fast as i can! lol

Anyway, we have a great theme this week................ BOO!

I was very fortunate to be given this fantastic image to use on my project. I made a treat bag for halloween.

Please take a minute to pop over to One Stitch at a Time and view the awesome DT inspiration. I hope you will join in with our challenge this week too. I look forward to seeing your creations soon.

Take care, Big Hugs, Jill x

Thinking of You

Good morning crafters!

Here i am again relying on blogger to schedule my post on time! My previously cancelled operation was rescheduled for wednesday so whilst i am expecting to be home by now, i am not sure if i will be up to posting this on time!

Anyway, a new month means a month of new challenges over at the 2 Sisters challenge blog.

This week the theme is a sketch and we are sponsored by the fabulous Stitchy Bear Stamps

It would be great if you joined us in this challenge and if you pop over to the 2 Sisters challenge blog you will see the other DT's beautiful inspiration.

Here is the sketch.

I turned the sketch on its side for my card.  I used this beautiful 'Fanciful Bouquet' digi from Stitchy Bear.  You can find it here.  The papers are Back to Basics III but unfortunately didn't come out too well in this photo.

Thank you for visiting today. I will try and pop around to all your blogs as soon as i am up and about a bit.

Take care, Big hugs, Jill x
